Zakat (zakaat, zakah), or almsgiving, is one of the five pillars of Islam. This means that zakat is obligatory for Muslims, along with the other four holy pillars of prayer (salah), fasting (sawm), pilgrimage (hajj) and faith in Allah and His Messenger, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (shahada). Any healthy adult Muslim who owns property in excess of a certain amount - known as Nisab - must pay 2.5% of that property as zakat.
"...and those whose property is a recognized right, for the needy and the disadvantaged" (Quran 70:24-5).
Eligible Muslims pay zakat once a year, and it is due as soon as one lunar (Islamic) year has passed since reaching or exceeding nisab (a certain amount of wealth). Each Muslim's zakat is then distributed to those who meet the criteria for receiving it. At A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation, your zakat is distributed with the utmost care to ensure that the most vulnerable, including children, those affected by war, disease and climate disasters, have access to the help they need.
Zakat is not only a fundamental pillar of Islam, but also a revolutionary concept that can end extreme poverty - because that is the power of zakat!
As Allah (may He be exalted) tells us in the Holy Quran:
"And be persistent in prayer and regular in charity: And whatever good you send for your souls before you, you shall find it with Allah." (Quran 2:110)
It is also a right that the poor have from us, the well-to-do.
"Those in whose wealth there is a recognized right for the needy and the poor." (Quran 70:24-25)
Imagine this situation: if only the 10 richest people in the world paid zakat - it would be a staggering $9.25 billion! The power of this money in the fight against poverty would be enormous.

Your Zakat allows us to fund our crucial work for hunger-stricken people and communities living in Nigeria. In shaa Allah, thanks to Zakat donations, we will be able to do much more - both in Nigeria and in Pakistan and Palestine. The generosity of donors will make it possible to help the poorest communities and enable a better life for vulnerable orphans and families around the world.
Alhamdulillah, you have the power to change people's lives.
The A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation spends donations in the most effective way to relieve the suffering of the world's most vulnerable people.
Kiedy dokonujesz darowizny zakat, pobieramy stałą kwotę w wysokości do 12,5% opłat administracyjnych.

Fitrana is a charitable donation of food that is given before the Eid prayer, so it must be given before the end of Ramadan. Fitrana must be donated by any self-sufficient Muslim who has food in excess of his needs, on behalf of himself and his dependents.
The Zakat donation should be 2.5% of your total wealth subject to Zakat. Therefore, if your total wealth (after deducting any debts) is $10,000, you would pay $250. Use our free and easy zakat calculator to calculate how much you owe (the calculator will appear on our website soon).

Oto lista najczęściej zadawanych pytań, z której można skorzystać w celu uzyskania dalszych wskazówek:
There are eight categories of persons eligible to receive zakat.
A poor person is a person whose assets, exceeding his basic needs, do not reach the nisab threshold. The recipient cannot be part of the immediate family, so a spouse, children, parents and grandparents cannot receive zakat. Other relatives, however, may receive zakat.
For each year you owe zakat, subtract 2.5% from the total wealth you owned at the end of that year and pay that amount in zakat. If you are not sure how much wealth you had, you must estimate it as best you can. E.g. It's now Ramadan 2024, and you haven't paid zakat for the past five years. You need to calculate how much wealth you owned each Ramadan for the past 5 years and pay 2.5% of that amount.
