I have my own company, how can I pay zakat on it?
If you're in business, all items on the market are subject to zakat, including land and real estate that was purchased for resale.
Raw materials and goods produced for sale are also subject to zakat. Buildings, machinery, vehicles, etc. that are necessary for the operation of the business are exempt from zakat.
Example:
Mohammed owns a cake factory. When calculating the zakat due from the company, he takes into account the monetary value of all the components of the pastries he has in stock and all the unsold pastries stored in the warehouse. The factory building, machinery and equipment are not taken into account when calculating zakat.
