What is Zakat Al-Fitr (Fitrana)?
Zakat ul Fitr or Al-Fitr (also known as fitrana) is a charitable donation of food to be made before the Eid prayer, before the end of the month of Ramadan, for the love of Allah. Zakat ul-Fitr is obligatory for any self-sufficient adult Muslim who has food in excess of his needs, on behalf of himself and his dependents.
Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has decreed Zakat ul Fitr [Fitrana] to cleanse the fasting person from indecent words or actions, and to provide food for the needy. It is accepted as Zakat for the person who gives it before the Eid prayer; but it is ordinary Sadaqah for the one who gives it after the prayer." [Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah].
This quantity was described by the Prophet (peace be upon him) as 1 saa' of food, and 1 saa' is equivalent to 4 madd. Madd is the amount that can be collected when someone lays down their hands. If we translate this into a monetary value based on the price of basic food such as rice, dates and sultanas, it yields a certain amount, which is determined each year by the Council of Imams in the country, or in our case by the Council of the Foundation with the cooperation of the sheikhs who sit on the Advisory Council for Zakat.
As the A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation operates as a charitable organization, we can receive money to pay for food in advance, which we will then spend in a timely manner to purchase food. It will be distributed to the needy in our areas of operation.
How much is Fitran (Zakat Al Fitr) per person?

Co to znaczy, że Fundacja A&A Rainbow Hearts Around The World działa jako pośrednik i w jaki sposób umożliwia mi to wpłatę pieniędzy?
An agent is someone who facilitates the payment of Fitran (Zakat Al Fitr) because they are better equipped to distribute it. You can pay them in currency because it's as if you're asking them to pay on your behalf. We use the money to buy food, which we pass on to the appropriate recipients, so it's as if you're the one giving the food, not the currency.
Can you take fitrana before the 27th day of Ramadan?
Yes, according to the Madh-hab Hanafi schools. Shafi'i Madh-hab - all follow this ruling.
