The inhabitants of Gaza are struggling with hunger, daily massacres and destruction on an unprecedented scale.

Months of blocked humanitarian aid, food and supplies have left a million people in a hunger crisis, with 477,000 at risk of starvation.

Over 60,000 Palestinians have been killed, 143,000 injured and 1.9 million displaced multiple times in the Gaza Strip. Hospitals and shelters continue to be targeted during Israel's ongoing blockade, further exacerbating malnutrition and deteriorating health conditions.

• 64% of primary health care centres and 53% of hospitals are completely closed.
• As many as 12,500 patients must be evacuated immediately for medical reasons.
• 92% of homes are destroyed or damaged
• Over 2,300 educational institutions, ranging from nurseries to universities, were destroyed.
• 93% of homes lack water

Immediate and sustained access to humanitarian aid is needed to prevent further loss of life.

Yes, almost since the beginning of the escalation, our Foundation has been focusing on providing assistance to families in Gaza. Initially, we planned to enter Gaza with doctors and volunteers, but due to Israel's refusal to grant permission, we had to modify our original plan and focus on directly supporting families who suffered as a result of bombing and forced displacement. The families under our care receive financial and food support, as well as assistance in organising and paying for medical care for the injured and sick, and rehabilitation for disabled children. The children in our care are recovering from severe malnutrition, and those with chronic illnesses receive the necessary medication they need to function properly. We work to provide the necessary medicines for heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes (unfortunately, insulin has been unavailable in Gaza for many months, so diabetics under our care receive substitute pharmacological treatment, which is less effective than insulin but helps patients to function relatively normally).

Here is what we have achieved so far and what we have done together with the families from Gaza: 

🍴 Several families under our care organised aid for children from nearby tents – together, we distributed around 15,000 loaves of bread and 10,000 ready meals (lentil soup, rice with vegetables, and shawarma with vegetables).

🥬 We distributed 20,000 parcels of fresh vegetables, such as tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, lemons, onions, peppers, garlic, aubergines, and molochia.  

🎈 Psychosocial support for 38 families   

📦 Nearly 50,000 food parcels containing items such as flour, pasta, rice, tomato paste, vegetable oil, and tins of beans, meat, and fish.   

🛏️ Mattresses, blankets and plastic sheeting for 13 families who have been forcibly displaced in recent days.

💧 10,000 hygiene kits containing soap, shampoo, sanitary pads for women and children at the beginning of the crisis in Gaza, and for many months now, weekly deliveries of nappies and cosmetics (oils, powders, creams) for small children in our care, towels, etc.   

🩺 Nearly 200 children under our care have regular access to healthcare services in small private clinics operating in Gaza.

💊 Dietary supplements for pregnant and breastfeeding women and young children, formula milk for infants and young children under our care  

🚰 Drinking water for 38 families every day. We have delivered large tankers of drinking water several times for around 40,000 people.    

We recently provided life-saving assistance to children who suffered as a result of bombing, organised help and medical care for a mother giving birth by caesarean section without anaesthesia and for several other mothers who gave birth naturally. We provided layettes for several newborns who were born recently, so that the children have clothes, nappies, milk, bottles and essential cosmetics such as oils, powders and creams.

We are still caring for several pregnant women who are counting on our food support and supplements for pregnant women. Some of them are still in the north of the Gaza Strip, an area they will have to leave as soon as possible, and they need our help to relocate to the south.

Despite ongoing challenges on the ground, your continued support and awareness continue to save lives.

According to our estimates, the most urgent needs in the Gaza Strip are:

• Access to drinking water
• Food aid for displaced families
• Psychosocial support, especially for children who have experienced severe trauma
• Temporary shelters for people whose homes have been destroyed – We urgently need tents for families that we must relocate from the north to the south of the Gaza Strip.
• Medical care for the injured and vulnerable

• We are in constant contact with the families in Gaza whom we support. We monitor their situation on an ongoing basis and intervene whenever necessary.
• We work closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and psychologists who care for the children in our care.
• We arrange medical appointments, medical procedures and planned operations on an ongoing basis.
• We respond promptly and arrange dental appointments when necessary, especially for children.
• We are fighting for sustainable access to humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians and aid workers at national and international level.
• We provide emergency medical care, clean water and financial assistance wherever possible. Our cash transfer programme reaches families in the Gaza Strip every week.

Since the beginning of the escalation of the conflict, i.e. since October 2023, we have donated over PLN 320,000 to the Gaza Strip.

In Gaza, we use your donations to purchase food, hygiene products, blankets, clothing, bedding, medicines, nappies, baby milk and any other items that we can obtain locally. We sometimes work with local suppliers who prepare food parcels and vegetables. The families under our care also receive weekly financial support in the form of cash transfers to their Bank of Palestine accounts.

Humanitarian needs are enormous, with hundreds of thousands of displaced people living in tents and in critical conditions. That is why our work in the field focuses on emergency aid, mainly the distribution of food, medicines and hygiene products, as well as ensuring access to clean water and medical assistance.

We are committed to supporting our Palestinian brothers and sisters in sustainable reconstruction. Our long-term development plan includes:

• Recovery: We will endeavour to participate in the repair and restoration of vital infrastructure, including community centres, homes, schools, and hospitals, if we are able to afford it, which is closely linked to the amount of donations we receive from you. 
• Accommodation: Providing families with temporary shelter while their homes are being rebuilt, as well as kitchen equipment and solar energy systems. 
• Sources of income: Creating paid employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers who have lost their livelihoods, including hiring workers to assist with rubble removal and employing Gazans in the health care and agriculture sectors. 
• Education: Supporting children in starting school by providing educational materials and school bags, as well as by supplying necessary furniture and equipment to schools. 
• Medicine: Strengthening health care systems by providing medical supplies and other support to improve the quality and accessibility of medical services, especially for women, children, older people and people with disabilities.

Probably every foundation in the world would answer this question by saying that the more donations it receives, the more help it can provide and the more people it can save.

The A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation is a small foundation, and as a small foundation, we are limited by the fact that we do not receive large donations. However, a foundation such as ours does not have high administrative costs, the costs of salaries for thousands of staff members, or marketers who take a large portion of the donations that the foundation receives. In our opinion, this is an advantage of small foundations, because donors can be sure that their help will go exactly where it should go, instead of to volunteers working for pay.

As a small foundation, we are usually neglected by large organisations, which discriminate against our activities, and their representatives and ambassadors are even capable of strongly suggesting to the public that they should not support small organisations, but only large NGOs, which, unfortunately, often harms us. Meanwhile, when times are tough and we have no donations, we turn to these large organisations for help for our families, and these same representatives find thousands of reasons not to help these children in need.

We recently had such a situation when a newborn baby was suspected of having jaundice. We wanted to ask a large organisation to help transport the mother, who was weakened by childbirth, and her baby to a hospital 8 kilometres away. In order to help transport the baby, the family was required to provide a doctor's certificate in English confirming the baby's jaundice. Providing such a certificate meant covering the costs of transporting the mother and baby to a private clinic and paying for tests at that clinic, which we did not have the money for at the time because donations had drastically decreased.

And so we had to raise money to transport little Naya to the doctor. Once we had managed to raise some funds, we avoided incurring additional costs by having her examined at a private clinic and immediately transported Naya and her mother to Al Awda Hospital, where doctors immediately provided the little girl with the necessary medical care, and she was immediately placed under lamps and given radiation treatment.

If it hadn't been for the quick response, the girl's health could have been at risk. At the moment, the newborn is doing well and is already with her mother in the tent. She has milk, nappies and medicine, which is the most important thing for Naya right now. Thanks to you and your generosity, it often happens that when we lose hope and think that we cannot do anything, a miracle happens that confirms our belief that the impossible becomes possible And for that, dear donors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ♥
