Report about activities of A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation in Gaza Strip

HOW WE ARE HELPING PALESTINIANS PUSHED TO THE BRINK OF SURVIVAL - REPORT

It will soon be two years since Israel attacked the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the Hamas attack on 7 October 2023.

Most of the Gaza Strip is in ruins. Approximately 69% of buildings have been levelled or damaged. 1.6 million Palestinians are living in makeshift shelters. Everyone is in mourning. The vast majority of people have no income or means of subsistence.

A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation remained in the Gaza Strip throughout the Israeli offensive. For nearly two years, we focused on providing humanitarian aid wherever possible, as we had done before. Now, with the temporary ceasefire broken by Israel and another ground offensive forcibly displacing Palestinians from north to south, we remain on the ground and continue to support families to enable them to survive in these extremely difficult conditions.

SUPPORT CHILDREN IN GAZA

The needs in the Gaza Strip are currently enormous and complex - Report on our activities in the Gaza Strip

dzieci z Gazy - raport

Our priority is to reach the most vulnerable people in order to prevent further loss of life. We are stepping up our emergency response to increase protection for those most affected by the conflict, and we will support the timely repair, reconstruction and strengthening of key services, facilities and infrastructure.

As soon as possible, we want to help children return to school, restore the functioning of hospitals and specialist care centres, and implement other long-term development programmes that will enable communities to rebuild their self-sufficiency in a sustainable manner. We will also continue to work towards ending Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine so that lasting peace can be achieved.

We enjoy the trust of Palestinian communities and have a proven track record.

A & A Rainbow Hearts Around The World Foundation carries out high-quality humanitarian and development activities in the Gaza Strip. Over the past 22 months, we have been responding continuously to crises by providing life-saving assistance. The bonds of trust between our Foundation and the people we serve form the basis of our plan to help meet the urgent needs of Palestinians who are on the brink of survival. This trust continues to grow, and Palestinians from the Gaza Strip are increasingly turning to us for help – some families are referred to us by health workers from hospitals that are unable to provide food and better care for the injured, sick and malnourished children. We are receiving more and more messages from distraught mothers and fathers who have heard in hospital that children under the care of our Foundation are recovering, even though they were previously in a very advanced stage of malnutrition.

Aid for Gaza: Summary of our activities

The situation in the Gaza Strip is becoming increasingly dramatic. Hunger, lack of access to medicines and the collapse of the healthcare system mean that thousands of families are struggling to survive every day. Thanks to your support, our Foundation has been able to help as many as 38 families, including around 200 childrenwho found themselves in an extremely difficult situation.

What have we achieved?

In recent months, thanks to your donations, we have carried out a number of activities that have helped those most in need:

  • We delivered food and water for families who had nothing to eat.
  • We provided medicines and bandages for children in critical health, including over 20 children in an advanced stage of starvation.
  • We supported children with disabilitieswho require constant care and specialised medical treatment.
  • We helped families who had lost everything to rebuild at least a semblance of normality.

Why is your help so important?

We care for children who, under normal circumstances, could be treated and recover, but in Gaza their chances of survival are slim. Without access to medicines, food and basic medical care, their lives are at risk.

Among the children we help are:

  • Children in a very advanced stage of starvation, in which the body is already burning muscle tissue and internal organs.
  • Children suffering from illnesses that are curable under normal circumstances, but which are fatal in Gaza.
  • children with disabilities, które wymagają specjalistycznej opieki.
